Lula C. Foss (Akerson)
LULA C. FOSS
FORT FAIRFIELD

Fort Fairfield – Lula C. Foss, 89, wife of the late Robert L. Foss Sr., passed away Saturday morning, December 9, 2023 at a Caribou nursing facility, following a brief period of declining health. She was born April 11, 1934 in Perham, the daughter of Charles and Christina (Dahlin) Akerson.

Lula attended Woodland schools, was a dedicated, lifelong homemaker, and resided in Fort Fairfield for over 55 years. Lula found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like spending time with her family, being outdoors and sitting in the sun. She loved flowers and enjoyed company. She had a special way about her that warmed the hearts of everyone who knew her. She will be remembered for her fabulous Saturday night get togethers and her wonderful baked beans and potato salads.

In addition to her parents, Lula was predeceased by her husband, Robert L. Foss Sr.; two sons, Philip Foss and Scott Foss; three brothers, John, Malford and Chester Akerson; four sisters, Martha Jones, Arlene Buck, Vivian Everitt and Enid Hughes. She is survived by three daughters, Maxine Hathaway and her husband Roy, Valerie Clark and her companion Terry Donovan, all of Fort Fairfield, Lisa Foss of Cottage Grove, MN; two sons, Douglas Foss and his wife Betty of Blaine, Robert Foss Jr. of Easton; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The Foss family would like to extend a special thank you to the Caribou Rehab and Nursing Center for the care they provided our mother for the past two years.

In keeping with Lula’s wishes, a private graveside service will take place in the spring at the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Lula to the charity or organization of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gibersondorseyfuneralhome.com .
