Charles R. "Charlie"  Craig
Fort Fairfield - Charles R. "Charlie" Craig, 79, husband of Elizabeth "Betty "(DeWitt) Craig, passed away Friday morning, November 10, 2023 at a Presque Isle nursing facility, following a period of declining health. He was born September 24, 1944 in Houlton, the son of Arnold and Theodosia N. (Wasson) Craig.

Charlie attended Houlton and Fort Fairfield schools and worked in several capacities over the years, including as a Potato Farmer, performing roofing and siding services, as a Truck driver with J.J. Bouchard Trucking, Van Buren, and owned and operated Craig's Wood Pellet Sales, Fort Fairfield prior to his retirement. Charlie was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt, fish, and watch the hummingbirds. He also loved to play his guitar, singing, and karaoke.

In addition to his parents, Charlie was predeceased by three brothers, Fredrick, Andrew, and David Craig. He is survived by his wife of sixty two years, Betty Craig of Fort Fairfield; two sons, Michael Craig and Douglas Craig and his companion Lisa Perry; one daughter, Corinna "Cory" Craig Sawyer, all of Fort Fairfield; four grandchildren, Shelby York of Presque Isle, Dustin Craig of Fort Fairfield, Logan Craig of Augusta, Mallory Sawyer of Fort Fairfield; three great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Friday, November 17, 2023 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main St. Fort Fairfield where a memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Kevin Jackins officiating. Interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield.
