Obituary for Jean G. "Guy" Lizotte

FORT FAIRFIELD

Fort Fairfield – Jean Guy Lizotte, 81, husband of Carmen M. (Saucier) Lizotte, passed away Sunday morning, November 5, 2023 at a Bangor healthcare facility, following a brief illness. He was born December 24, 1941 in St. Jacques, New Brunswick, the son of Ferdina and Claudia (Bossie) Lizotte.

He attended school in St. Jacques, New Brunswick, and as a young man went to worked as a lumberjack in the Stockholm area for a number of years and was married to Carmen M. Saucier on July 13, 1963. He later worked as a carpenter and retired from McCain Foods, Easton as a carpenter and maintenance person in 2011 after 27 years of service. Guy was a multi-talented craftsman who deeply enjoyed his home and the tasks involved with it, from stacking firewood to maintenance and gardening, he completed each task with a smile and was grateful to just be close to his family. He was a true family man.

In addition to his parents, Guy was predeceased by several siblings. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Carmen M. (Saucier) Lizotte of Fort Fairfield; one son and daughter-in-law, David J. and Jennifer Lizotte of Huntersville, NC; one daughter, Carlene M. Lizotte of Caribou; two grandchildren, Melissa Lizotte of Caribou, Deanna Lizotte of Washington D.C.. He also leaves behind several siblings, in-laws, including a special brother-in-law, Albridge Saucier and his wife Brenda of Fort Fairfield, who acted as Guy’s best man at his wedding, nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Guy’s wishes, a private Mass of Christian Burial will take place at a later date at the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield. Interment will take place in the spring at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Limestone. The Lizotte family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Northern Light EMMC, Bangor for the wonderful and compassionate care given to both Guy and his family during his illness. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Guy to the American Heart Society, 51 US Route 1, Suite M., Scarborough, Maine 04074. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
