LIMESTONE

Limestone – Joseph Ivan Cote, 66, passed away unexpectedly Monday October 11, 2021 at his Limestone residence. He was born September 10, 1955 in Fort Fairfield, the son of Edward Henry and Eva Marie (Godbout) Cote.

He attended Limestone schools and was self-employed as a mechanic for several years, and was known as a talented transmission repairman. He was also gifted with the ability to fix anything mechanical, electrical or plumbing related, especially home stereo repair and installations. He also loved motorcycles, especially when his grandchildren would join him for a ride.

Joseph was predeceased by his parents, and one brother-in-law, Philip E. Howard.

He is survived by one son Joshua J. Cote of Limestone; four daughters and spouses, Crystal and Peter Tilley of Fort Fairfield, Erin and Troy Cote of Saco, Karina Gray of Presque Isle, Savanna and Brendan Theriault of Hudson, NH; two brothers, Almond Cote of Nashua, NH, Marshall Cote of Augusta; five sisters, Marie Novella LaPointe and her husband Archie of Presque Isle, Carol Mitchell and her husband David of Monmouth, Linda Corbin and her companion Butch of Winthrop, Theresa V. Howard of Limestone, Marilyn Cote of Caribou; eight grandchildren, Dylan and Brayden Tilley, both of Fort Fairfield, Troy Cote II, Ethan Cote, both of Saco, Lena Murphy of Mapleton, Jaxson Theriault of Hudson, NH, Gavin Murphy of Mapleton, Mason Cote of Fort Fairfield; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Friday October 15, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. The memorial service and interment will be private for the family. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Cote to the American Heart and Stroke Association, Maine Affiliate, 51 US Route 1, Suite M, Scarborough, Maine 04074.
