Fort Fairfield – Gilbert M. Titcomb, Jr. passed away Tuesday morning, December 8, 2020 at a Caribou nursing facility, following an extended illness. He was born November 22, 1933 in Fort Fairfield, the son of Gilbert M. Sr. and Harriet (Johnston) Titcomb.

He was a graduate of the Limestone High School, Class of 1952, and attended the University of Maine at Orono. He went on to serve his country with the United States Army from May 1956 to May 1958. Gilbert enjoyed a long career in broadcasting with WEGP Radio and retired as chief engineer for WAGM Television.

He was predeceased by his parents; his stepmother, Helen (Kelleher) Titcomb; one nephew, James Chapman Jr. He is survived by one sister, Lorena T. Kirby of Hobe Sound, FL; three special nieces, Lois Crandell and her husband Christopher of Ringgold, GA, Susan Carleton of Northport, FL, Rebecca Wilson and her husband Michael of Lockhart, TX; five great nieces and nephews; four great great nieces and nephews.

A graveside service with military honors will be conducted in the spring at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Titcomb to the Fort Fairfield Public Library, 339 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, Maine 04742.
