Caribou & Fort Fairfield – Anna M. Murphy, 82, wife of the late William A. Murphy, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 7, 2020 at a Caribou healthcare facility, following an extended illness. She was born September 18, 1937 in Bristol, New Brunswick, the daughter of Archie N. and Kathleen R. (Hannigan) Green.

She was married to William A. Murphy on October 4, 1952 and enjoyed nearly fifty-three years of marriage until his passing on June 4, 2005. Anna had been employed for most of her life in the farming industry, mostly Goughan Berry Farms, Caribou and Giberson Farms, Fort Fairfield.

In addition to her parents and husband, Anna was predeceased by her son, Derick Murphy on March 16, 1992; two brothers, Archie and Samuel Green; four sisters, Mary Higgins, Ferne Lovely, Deborah Gagnon and Shirley Dumond. She is survived by two daughters, Duska J. Deschaine and her husband Vanier of Laconia, NH, Kimberly Sabastian of North Carolina; grandchildren, Katrina Lank of Machias, Howard Lank III of Meredith, NH, Michael Mingo of North Carolina; great grandchildren, Brandon Janak of Laconia, NH, Caleb Janak of Coplay, PA, Elisha and E.J. Winslow, both of Barnstead, NH, Hunter Russell Lank of Palm Coast, FL, Harper Rowan Lank of Meriden, CT; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, July 18, 2020 at 12:00 noon at Union Cemetery, Fort Fairfield with Rev. Mark Babin officiating. All are invited to a time of continued fellowship at Anna’s home, 590 Access Highway, Lot # 44, Caribou, following the service. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Anna to the National Kidney Foundation, 209 West Central Street, Suite 220, Natick, MA 01760. Envelopes will be available at the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gibersondorseyfuneralhome.com .
