SACO - Kathy A. Reed, 64, passed away peacefully after an extended illness on December 19, 2019, at Seal Rock Healthcare in Saco.
Kathy was born in Fort Fairfield on October 27, 1955 and attended local schools and NMVTI. She was married to Ralph F. Reed of Alfred for 47 years until her death. She will be sadly missed.
Kathy was employed for many years by the Fort Fairfield school system as a teacher's aide and loved inspiring others to learn. Kathy was an avid reader, excellent cribbage and Bingo player and especially loved a good game of "45" but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.
She was predeceased by her father, Floyd W. Chapman; mother, Pauline (Cox) Chapman Cyr; and one brother, Gene Chapman of Othello, WA; one sister, Linda Clifford.
She is survived by her husband Ralph Reed of Alfred; her son Dallas and daughter-in-law Meika and grandson Dyllan of Biddeford; and daughter Morgan of Philo, CA; one sister, Brenda S. Chapman of Fort Fairfield; two brothers, Wilson Chapman of Glenrock, WY, and Donald W. Chapman of Othello, WA; her beloved service dog Moses.
A committal service will be conducted at a later date at Southern Maine Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Springvale, Maine. In lieu of flowers, donations to your local Humane Society are welcome.
