Steve and Sarah Ulman

Dear Heather, Kiersten, Tricia and families, We feel so fortunate to have known your father for over 46 years, for he was a true gentleman dedicated to family, work, and community. Not only was he a faithful doctor to his patients, he was a good friend to them as well. He made himself available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Often he would leave a party to make hospital rounds. House calls were also a service he provided on a regular basis. Shortly after we met your parents, my dad was traveling across Canada by train to visit us. Pat and Don were visiting family and went out of their way to surprise him as he got off the train. They took him out for dinner and a night on the town. He never forgot the evening with them and their unexpected kindness. We haven't forgotten either. Our family was lucky enough to have both Pat and Don as health care providers, friends, and Godparents to our son. We will forever be grateful to them, and to you, for welcoming us into their lives, educating us with good music and conversation, and always treating us to delicious food. Pat and Don will live on in all of us that knew them, loved them, and who strive to follow the example they set as true partners in lives well lived. We grieve their passing.
