Fort Fairfield – Marion I. Wortman, 77, wife of the late Bradford N. Wortman, passed away Saturday evening October 20, 2018 at a Houlton nursing facility, following an extended illness. She was born August 6, 1941 in Greenfield, New Brunswick, the daughter of Charles and Gertrude (Shaw) Vernall.

She was a graduate of the Centreville, New Brunswick High School and was married to Bradford N. Wortman on September 15, 1961. Marion had been employed by Pollack’s Potato Processing in Fort Fairfield and McCain Foods in Easton for many years. She was a member of the Perth-Andover, New Brunswick Canadian Legion and enjoyed music, playing cards with friends, the Boston Red Sox, NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt and horse pulling.

In addition to her parents, Marion was predeceased by her husband Bradford on February 25, 2001; three brothers, Richard, Buddy and David Vernall. She is survived by three sons, Terry Vernall of Caswell, Willy Wortman of Boston, Ross Wortman and his wife Shelley of Fort Fairfield; one daughter, Penny Wortman of Jacksonville, FL; eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and extended family members in both Maine and New Brunswick.

A Celebration of Marion’s Life and a reception with refreshments will be held Sunday, October 28, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield.
