JOHN T. CLARK SR.
FORT FAIRFIELD

Fort Fairfield – John T. Clark, Sr., 71, passed away Friday evening, January 20, 2017 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility, following an extended illness. He was born November 10, 1945 in Fort Fairfield, the son of Samuel M. Sr. and Freda M. (Payne) Clark.

He was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1963. He served in the Maine Army National Guard for a period of time, worked for Converse Rubber, Presque Isle for a number of years, and also worked in other industries both in Maine and Florida. He was a proud member of the National Rifle Association, and was a kind man who loved his life, his family and his country. He had a deep appreciation for nostalgia including cars, cinema and such, and this was often reflected in his everyday life. His sharp wit, infectious laugh and timeless stories will surely be missed by all.

In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by one brother, Samuel M. Clark Jr.. He is survived by two sons, John T. Clark II and his wife Amy of Brewer, Benjamin Clark and his wife Karen Pelletreau of Old Town; one daughter, Sarah Clark-Lombard and her longtime partner John Comstock of Corinna; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert P. and Sherry Clark of Fort Fairfield; two sisters, Paula Jean Perry and her husband Terrance of Rumford, Cathy Clark and her husband David Butler of Fort Fairfield; five grandchildren, Taylor, Hayden and Madelyn Clark, Alexandra Kelley, Noelle Comstock; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Friday, January 27, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, where services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Spring interment will take place at the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield.
