Fort Fairfield – Leroy A. Brooker, 66, husband of Merrilee (Rediker) Brooker, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday morning, September 21, 2016 in Fort Fairfield. He was born September 15, 1950 in Fort Fairfield, the son of Leonard R. and Hattie B. (Rockwell) Brooker.

He was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1970. He had been employed by A.C. Todd Farms, Fort Fairfield, Potato Service Inc., Presque Isle, and Lanes Construction, Presque Isle for many years. Leroy was married to Merrilee Rediker on November 7, 1980. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and many other outdoor activities and especially enjoyed the many long hunting rides to Ashland and the Big Woods with Rodney Turcotte and his brother Gerald.

He was predeceased by his parents and is survived by his wife of nearly 36 years, Merrilee of Fort Fairfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Christine Ann Rhonda and Jason Haberstick of Industry; one stepdaughter, Kim Heath and her husband Jeff of Bangor; one stepson, Bryan Holmes and his wife Tonya of Watertown, NY; two brothers, Kenneth Brooker and his wife Yvonne of Norridgewock, Gerald Brooker of Fort Fairfield; nine grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Saturday September 24, 2016 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. The funeral service will be conducted Sunday September 25, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Celebration Center, 170 Houlton Road, Fort Fairfield with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Private interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held after the funeral service at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Leroy to the American Heart / American Stroke Association, Founders Affiliate, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005.
