Fort Fairfield – Basil C. Adams, 82, husband of Bonita (Case) Adams, passed away Wednesday morning, April 19, 2023 at the Aroostook House of Comfort, Presque Isle, following a brief illness. He was born March 29, 1941 in Tilley, New Brunswick, the son of Cecil and Ruth (DeMerchant) Adams.

He attended school in Lerwick, New Brunswick and worked as an over the road truck driver for a number of years. He later became employed by Trombley Red-Mix and retired from Dragon Industries in 2003. Basil was married to Bonita Case on October 27, 1979 and was an avid outdoorsman. He also enjoyed staying busy and tinkering away in his garage.

In addition to his parents, Basil was predeceased by one brother, Reginald Finnemore. He is survived by his wife, Bonita Adams of Fort Fairfield; two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Cathy Adams of Perth-Andover, New Brunswick, Larry and Julia Churchill of Presque Isle; two daughters and sons-in-law, Shelly and Wayne Whetsell of Montgomery, AL, Kathy and Kevin Forsman of Fort Fairfield; four brothers, Sydney Adams of Windsor, VT, Richard Adams and his wife Sheila of Tilley, New Brunswick, Stewart Adams and his wife Janice of Easton, Donald Adams of Tilley, New Brunswick; three sisters, Marina Christophersen of Perth-Andover, New Brunswick, Verlene Weeks and her husband Reg of Pugwash, Nova Scotia, Mavis Clark and her husband Terry of Dedham, ME; five grandchildren, Bethany Williams-Hayden of Toronto, Ontario, Kayla Zimmerman of Montgomery, AL, Kelsey Turner, Kelvin and Kenyon Forsman, all of Fort Fairfield, Lee Adams of Perth-Andover, New Brunswick; one great grandchild, Cole Torres of Fort Fairfield; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted Monday, May 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle with Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Adams to the Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O. Box 867, Presque Isle, Maine 94769.
