Fort Fairfield – Evelyn S. “Patty” Clark, 92, wife of the late Clifton G. “Blackie” Clark, passed away Sunday morning, March 26, 2023 at a Presque Isle nursing facility, following a brief illness. She was born October 18, 1930 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Daniel and Margaret (Sanderson) Sparks.

She was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1948 and was married to Clifton G. “Blackie” Clark on May 19, 1950. Patty had been employed by Fishers Corner Store, Fort Fairfield, also worked at the Maine Department of Health and Welfare, Caribou for several years, and was a line supervisor foreperson at McCain Foods, Easton. Patty also performed painting and wallpapering for many years. She was an accomplished seamstress, quilter and a wonderful baker.

In addition to her parents, Patty was predeceased by her husband Blackie on June 3, 2002; one brother, Daniel Sparks Jr.; three sisters, Elizabeth Sealey Wasson, Annie Laurence, and Barbara Holton.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Clifton G. and Kathleen Clark of Clifton, VA, Randy R. and Shari Clark of Lexington, SC; four grandchildren, Ryan, Christopher, Andrew, and Chelsea Clark; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at a later date at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Clark to the Aroostook Area Agency on Aging, P.O. Box 1288, Presque Isle, Maine 04769. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
