FORT FAIRFIELD
Fort Fairfield – Andrew Gene Nibby, 63, passed away Friday morning, February 24, 2023 at his Fort Fairfield home, following a brief illness. He was born July 4, 1959 in Belfast, the son of James Ronald and Rose (Walker) Nibby.
He was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, and in addition to helping local farmers, worked for the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad for a number of years and retired from Columbia Forest Products, Presque Isle as a security guard in 2017.
He was predeceased by his father, James Ronald Nibby; his mother, Rose (Walker) Thompson; stepfather, Rethell Thompson; two sisters, Dolly and Kim Nibby; one brother, James Nibby. He is survived by is companion, Mary Lampkins, and her children, Sean Wright and Lizzie Wright, all of Fort Fairfield; Mary’s grandchildren, Khalil McNaughton and his wife Natasha of Presque Isle, Iolite Jasper Dawn Wright of Astoria, OR; one great grandchild, Agnes McNaughton of Presque Isle; three brothers, Peter Nibby of Presque Isle, Merle and Terry Thompson, both of Searsport; two sisters, Twila Thompson of Searsport, Roxann Thompson of Belfast; three aunts, Katherine Dubois of St. Francis, Dee Babin and Claudette Walker, both of Fort Fairfield; one uncle, Micky Walker and his wife Joni of Hudson, FL; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gibersondorseyfuneralhome.com .
