BARBARA CONANT DIONNE
FORT FAIRFIELD
Fort Fairfield - Barbara Conant Dionne, 91, wife of the late Charles G. Dionne, peacefully passed at the Caribou Nursing Home on January 20, 2023, where she has been a resident since December 2018. She was born June 8, 1931 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of William R. and Sadie E. (Saunders) Conant.
Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Charles Geoffrey Dionne, her son, George Geoffrey Dionne; five brothers, William, Lewis, Philip, Robert and Warren Conant; two sisters, Mary Duncan, Maxine Morgan.
She is survived by her daughter, Anne Dionne and husband Rick Shepherd of Fort Fairfield; one sister, Lois Webb of Fort Fairfield; and many dear nieces and nephews.
Barbara loved her hometown and the people of Fort Fairfield, the dearest place in her heart. Barb’s beautiful smile, quick wit and her ability to find the humor in absolutely everything will always be remembered by all who knew her.
Graveside services will be conducted at a later date at the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Barbara to the Fort Fairfield Frontier Heritage Society, 18 Community Drive, Fort Fairfield, Maine 04742. The family would like to thank the Caribou Nursing Home staff for their kind care of Barbara in her last few years. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gibersondorseyfuneralhome.com .
