Fort Fairfield – Charles A. “Charlie” Goff Jr., 73, husband of Nancy L. (Brewster) Goff, passed away Wednesday morning, November 23, 2022 at the Aroostook House of Comfort, Presque Isle with his family by his side, following a period of declining health. He was born August 9, 1949 in Glens Falls, New York, the son of Charles A. Sr. and Mildred L. (Benway) Goff.

Charlie attended White Hall and Ticonderoga, NY schools and was a graduate of the Ticonderoga School System, Class of 1968. Charlie enjoyed a long career with the United States Air Force from 1968 to 1990, stationed at Loring AFB, Clark AFB, Philippines, Kelly AFB, San Antonio, TX, Osan AFB, Korea, Riyadh AFB, Saudi Arabia, retiring from Loring AFB as a Master Sergeant. During his retirement, Charlie became a life insurance agent with Primerica Insurance Company with which he worked for several years. He was a 4th degree member of the Fort Fairfield Knights of Columbus, Council No. 1753 where he served as Grand Knight and District Deputy. He was also a founding member of Aroostook County Crime Stoppers and was a communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield.

In addition to parents, Charlie was predeceased by one sister, Vickie Drinkwine. He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Nancy L. Goff of Fort Fairfield; three sons, Brian Goff and his fiancé Sandra Kinney of Caribou, Timothy Goff and his wife Amy of Fort Fairfield, Daniel Goff and his companion Ngoc Han of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; one brother, Richard Goff and his wife Theresa of Buskirk, NY; two sisters, Kay Wells and her husband Walt of Hague, NY, Theresa M. Daniels of California; one brother-in-law, Gary Drinkwine of Delmar, NY; two granddaughters, Amelia and Olivia Goff of Fort Fairfield; numerous nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to list.

Friends may call Monday, November 28, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, 147 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will take place after the Mass at the Fort Fairfield Knights of Columbus Hall, 260 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. Spring interment with military honors will take place at the Northern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Caribou. Charlie’s family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Pam from Professional Home Nursing and the staff of the Aroostook House of Comfort for the exceptional and compassionate care given to both Charlie and his family during his illness. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Goff to the Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O. Box 867, Presque Isle, Maine 04769.
