Perth, New Brunswick & Fort Fairfield – Gail L. (Newcomb) Clark, 81, wife of Maurice “Graydon” Ruff, passed away Thursday evening, October 27, 2022 at an Edmundston, New Brunswick hospital, following a brief period of declining health. She was born March 28, 1941 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Charles P. and Gladys M. (Spittle) Newcomb.

She was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1959, and had been employed as a Certified Nurses Aid in both Fort Fairfield and Mars Hill. She was married to Gary Clark on July 4, 1959, who predeceased her in 1978. She later married Maurice “Graydon” Ruff on January 13, 1996, with whom Gail made her home in Carlingford, New Brunswick for a number of years. Gail generously volunteered her time at both the Fort Fairfield and Perth, New Brunswick Baptist Churches and the Perth Victoria Glen Manor.

In addition to her parents, and first husband, Gary Clark, Gail was predeceased by her daughter, Debra Jean Clark Shaw on June 21, 1991; two brothers, Vernon and Preston “Prep” Newcomb; one sister, Mabel Mahany.

She is survived by her husband, Maurice “Graydon” Ruff of Perth, New Brunswick; one stepson, Graydon Randall Ruff and his wife Christine of Kincardine, Ontario; three grandchildren, Danielle Nicole Orser and her husband Charles of Caribou, Adam Shaw of Florida, Michael Shaw of Easton; one step-grandson, Wesley Graydon Ruff of Carlingford, New Brunswick; four great grandchildren, Kaiden Shaw, Annistyn “Annie” Shaw, Rayven Jean Marie Risinger, Charles “Charlie” Arthur Orser; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Wednesday, November 2, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street Fort Fairfield, where the funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Gail to the charity or organization of one’s choice.
