Easton – Noella G. Johnston, 73, wife of Carl A. Johnston, passed away Tuesday morning, October 25, 2022 at her Easton home, following an extended illness. She was born December 22, 1948 in Four Falls, New Brunswick, the daughter of Alex and Rita (Pelletier) Daigle.

She attended schools in Burlington, Ontario, Beaconsfield and Perth, New Brunswick and was married to Carl A. Johnston on April 3, 1965. Noella had been employed by Gary DeMerchant Farms, and Nightingale Farms in Fort Fairfield, and enjoyed a long career at TAMC A.R. Gould Hospital, first in housekeeping, later as an O.R. Aid, and retired from their Sterile Supply Department. Noella greatly enjoyed the outdoors, most especially camping, hunting and fishing. She loved to cook, knit and garden, but her greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Noella was predeceased by her stepfather, Herman Morrissey; one son, Eric M. Johnston. She is survived by he husband of fifty-seven years, Carl A. Johnston of Easton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Hank and Tracy Johnston of Augusta, Ricky and Sheri Johnston of Fort Fairfield; one brother and sister-in-law, Real and Cathy Daigle of Ontario; one sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Steve Grimstead of Port Elgin, Ontario; stepsister, Tammy Smith of Perth-Andover, New Brunswick; four grandchildren, Jennipher Pelkey of Skowhegan, Suellen Johnston of Woodland, Amanda Graves and her husband Steve of Limestone, Justin Johnston of Presque Isle; four great grandchildren, Bryce Johnston, Peter Graves, Robert Graves, Brayden Pelkey; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Friday, October 28, 2022 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, where a service to Celebrate Noella’s life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Noella to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
