REV. CHARLIE W. CAMPBELL
LIMESTONE

Limestone – Rev. Charlie W. Campbell Sr., 86, husband of Joyce M. Campbell, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday morning, August 15, 2022 at the Presque Isle Aroostook House of Comfort, following a brief illness. He was born November 27, 1935 in Clifford, Virginia, the son of Mamie and Stephen Campbell Sr..

He attended elementary school in Clifford, VA and attended the Amherst, VA High School. Rev. Charlie served his country with the United States Army from 1955 to 1963, and was stationed in Germany, France, Texas, Kentucky and Alaska, attaining the rank of Staff Sergeant. He also served with both the Virginia and Maine National Guards for fifteen years. He and Joyce were married on September 12, 1964 and in 1970, gave his heart to the Lord. Rev. Charlie attended Thomas Road Bible Institute (currently Liberty University), Lynchburg, VA and proudly served as pastor of the Limestone High Street Baptist Church from 1980 to present.

In addition to his parents, Rev. Charlie was predeceased by seven brothers, Edward, Bland, James, Ford, Minor, Stephen Jr. and Franklin Campbell; three sisters, Charlotte Saunders, Thelma Mays, Eva Coffey.

He is survived by his wife Joyce M. Campbell of Limestone; two sons, Charlie W. Campbell Jr. and his wife Sheryl of Commerce, GA, Paul S. Campbell and his wife Jenny of Amherst, VA; three daughters, Nancy Campbell, Tammy Pelkey and her husband Jason, Heather LaBreck and her husband Tim, all of Limestone; fourteen grandchildren; three step grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one step great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Friday, August 19, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Limestone High Street Baptist Church, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m.. Interment will follow at the Northern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Caribou. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Rev. Campbell to the Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O. Box 867, Presque Isle, Maine 04769. Envelopes will be available at the church.
