CYRUS A. MORRIS
LIMESTONE & CARIBOU

Limestone & Caribou – Cyrus A. Morris, 78, husband of Edwina (Carbonneau) Morris, passed away Sunday afternoon, July 18, 2021 at the Presque Isle Aroostook House of Comfort, following a brief illness. He was born July 17, 1943 in Caribou, the son of Harry M. and Belva O. “Dolly” (Barnes) Morris.

He was a graduate of the Limestone High School, Class of 1961 and attended the University of Maine at Orono in their agriculture program. Cy was a lifelong member of the Limestone United Methodist Church and enjoyed a long career as one of the area’s premier potato growers, continuing a Morris family tradition started in the 1850’s. Following his retirement, Cy continued to work seasonally for Smith Farms, and always maintained a keen interest in area agriculture. Cy served in the Maine National Guard during the 1960’s, and always loved Aroostook County. He will be remembered by all who knew him as a good, kind and gentle man.

In addition to his parents, Cy was predeceased by one sister, Faye Phair.

He is survived by his wife, Edwina of Caribou; two sons, Aaron C. Morris of Portland, Adam J. Morris of Westbrook; three sisters, Kathryn M. Andrews of Hockessin, Delaware, Amy Lorraine McLaughlin and her husband R.H. of Eddington, Wilma Gene Parker of South Portland. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as many friends, too numerous to list.

Services for Mr. Morris will be private. Interment will take place at Webster Cemetery, Limestone.

The Morris family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Cary Medical Center, A.R. Gould Hospital, and the Aroostook House of Comfort for the wonderful and compassionate care given to both Cy and his family during his illness.

Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Morris to the Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O. Box 867, Presque Isle, Maine 04769. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gibersondorseyfuneralhome.com
