Limestone – Gordon J. Willette, 72, passed away Friday morning, June 11, 2021 at a Bangor healthcare facility, following a brief illness. He was born June 28, 1948 in Limestone, the son of Walter B. Sr. and Eva M. (King) Willette.

He was a graduate of the Limestone High School, Class of 1967 and went on to serve his country with the United States Army in Vietnam from August 1967 to April 1970. Gordon was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 1753, Fort Fairfield, and a member of the VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Fort Fairfield.

Gordon was extremely family oriented and his family will be forever grateful for the wonderful care which he provided to his mother and brother Junior. He was an avid sports fan and faithfully followed any team to which his nephews belonged.

In addition to his parents, Gordon was predeceased by three brothers, Stanley M. Willette, Walter B. Willette Jr. and Daniel R. Willette; two sisters, Theresa Johnscher, Rita Reiff; two brothers-in-law, Robert Stewart and Fred Johnscher.

He is survived by two brothers, Lawrence J. Willette of Limestone, Gerald L. Willette and his wife Becky of Old Orchard Beach; three sisters, Clara Cranmer and her husband Dave of Pennsylvania; Lorraine Stewart of South Weymouth, MA; Diane Natishak and her husband Dave of Peru, NY; a brother-in-law, Ralph Reiff Jr. of Montgomery, AL; a sister-in-law, Ellen Willette of Randolph, MA; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews including special great nephews, Braydon and Landon Willette, special great nieces, Eva and Nora Willette. He also leaves behind a special friend, Connie Edgecomb of Limestone, a close friend Butch Tardy of Limestone who shared breakfast daily with Gordon, and the “Guys at Hometown Fuels” who enjoyed daily coffee and conversation with Gordon.

Friends may call Monday, June 14, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday June 15, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Louis Catholic Church, 100 Main Street, Limestone. Interment will follow at the Northern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Caribou. Those who wish may contribute in Gordon’s memory to the Maine Veterans Home Memorial Fund, 163 Van Buren Road, Caribou, Maine 04736.
