Obituary for Sarah Jane Goughan (Carlino)

CARIBOU

Caribou – Sarah Jane Goughan, 91, wife of the late Donald M. Goughan, passed away Tuesday March 9, 2021 at the Presque Isle Aroostook House of Comfort, following an extended illness. She was born September 2, 1929 in Bryn Mawr, PA, the daughter of Richard and Pauline (Dindino) Carlino.

She was a graduate of the Bryn Mawr, PA school system and received a bachelor’s degree in art from Penn State University. Sarah was married to Donald M. Goughan on November 15, 1952, and was a member of the Family Christian Center, Presque Isle.

In addition to her parents, Sarah was predeceased by her husband Donald on October 19, 2019; one daughter, Jayne Goughan on May 24, 2016; one sister, Phina Trexler.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Gloria Goughan of Caribou, Alfred “Chip” and Teresa Goughan of Corinth, TX; one daughter and son-in-law, Lillian and Lionel Ouellette Jr. of Caribou; one sister and brother-in-law, Eleanor and Al Ziccardi of Scottsdale, AZ; five grandchildren and spouses, Aaron Goughan of Dallas, TX, Stephen Goughan of Corinth, TX, Kelli and Jeremiah Michaud of Caribou, Kristi Goughan and her partner Ellen Harmon of Caribou, Katie and Jason Shannon of Caribou; three great grandchildren, Evan, Reagan and Isiah Michaud, all of Caribou; several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of the Lives of both, Sarah and Donald will be held by the family at a later date. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Goughan to the Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O. Box 867, Presque Isle. A family tribute for Donald and Sarah will be published at a future date.
