Presque Isle – Lois M. (Rackliffe) Fields, 98, passed away peacefully Thursday evening,
February 4, 2021 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility. She was born November 18, 1922 in Fort
Fairfield, the daughter of Everett and Madelon (Burke) Rackliffe.

She was a graduate of Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1940 and was married to Harold E. Fields on February 1, 1942. She had been employed at Sears and Roebuck Department Store, Presque Isle, was manager of Presque Isle Top Value Stamp Store and retired as a financial officer of ACAP H.E.A.P. Program. Lois was a resident of Presque Isle for most of her life and was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church.

In addition to her parents, Lois was predeceased by her husband Harold in 1987; three brothers, Richard, Tom and Everett “Tuny” Rackliffe; one sister, Betty Philbrick.

She is survived by one son Richard H. Fields of Bangor; one daughter and son-in-law, Wendy J. and Rodney McCrum of Presque Isle; one brother, Robert Rackliffe of Presque Isle; two sisters, Joyce Boysol of Kent, WA, Janice Pippo of Rancho Mirage, CA. Lois was a special Gram to Kelly Fields, Shawn Fields, Haley Kelley and her husband Mark; and Great Grammy to Kaiden, Treyton and Andi Kelley. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Mrs. Fields’ wishes, a graveside service will be conducted at the Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle at a later date and time to be announced by the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
