Greta M. Kimball (Neilsen)
GRETA M. KIMBALL
FORT FAIRFIELD & PRESQUE ISLE

Fort Fairfield & Presque Isle – Greta M. Kimball, 93, wife of the late Dale L. Kimball, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 16, 2020 at a Presque Isle hospice facility, following a period of declining health. She was born October 21, 1927 in North View, New Brunswick, the daughter of Carl and Janie (Gallop) Neilsen.

She attended North View and Perth-Andover, New Brunswick schools and was married to Dale L. Kimball on December 2, 1948. Greta had been seasonally employed by area farmers over the years and had also been employed in the laboratory of the former A & P Processing Plant, Fort Fairfield for over ten years. She attended both the Fort Fairfield and Presque Isle Wesleyan Churches and was an extremely hard and diligent worker. Greta’s favorite phrase was “If you have time to lean, you have time to clean!”, and her family will remember her as “the strongest woman they ever knew”. Greta’s generosity extended far and wide and she would do anything for anyone. Although she dearly loved her Fort Fairfield community, Greta was a proud and true Canadian at heart, never relinquishing her Canadian Citizenship.

In addition to her parents, Greta was predeceased by her husband Dale on March 11, 1989; one granddaughter, Kesha Lovley Morris; four brothers, James, Malcomb, Everald and Ova Neilsen; three sisters, Phyllis Barton, Beryl Young, and Yvonne McDonald; and a special friend, Louise Libby. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Joanne and Leslie Fowler of Carrollton, VA, Janice and Conrad Lovley of Presque Isle; three grandchildren, Robert Fowler and his wife Brandie of Omaha, Nebraska, Robin Fowler and his companion Kristen Boudreaux of Brooklyn, NY, Dale Lovley and his wife Rebecca of Fredericksburg, VA; two great grandchildren Chloe Fowler and Landon Lovley; two step great grandchildren, Sydney and Jake Wise. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Seward Neilsen of Rothsay, New Brunswick; as well as a special friend, Cheryl Grass of Fort Fairfield.

In keeping with Greta’s wishes, calling hours and services will be private. Spring interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Kimball to the Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O. Box 867, Presque Isle, Maine 04769. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gibersondorseyfuneralhome.com .
