Fort Fairfield – Sandra Y. “Sandi” Chapman, 75, wife of William D. Chapman, passed unexpectedly, Sunday afternoon, May 8, 2022 in Portland. She was born July 27, 1946 in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of John and Annie Pearl (Littleton) Bellou.

She attended school in Norfolk, VA, was married to William D. Chapman on October 8, 1967, and had a successful home based business of designing and making cakes and shared her talent with many people over many years. Sandi was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, possessed many talents including, painting, sewing, cross-stitching, was very thoughtful, generous and would help anyone in need. She greatly enjoyed trips to the camp at Machias Lake, family gatherings and cooking for others.

In addition to her parents, Sandi was predeceased by one brother, Theodore A. Munden; step-father, Cary Munden; son-in-law, Harvey R. Donnelly; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arthur W. and Marion L. Chapman; two brothers-in-law, Clifton S. “Butch” Brook and David R. O’Neal.

She is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, William D. Chapman of Fort Fairfield; one son, William J. “BJ” Chapman and his fiancé, Rose Kuehl of Gray; three daughters, TaJuana A. “Tonnie” Smyth and her husband, Donnie, C. Victoria “Vikki” Donnelly, all of Fort Fairfield, Deborah “Debbie” Peters and her husband JD of Falmouth; one sister and brother-in-law, Carrie Dawn and Jay Bordeau of Wolfeboro, NH; five grandchildren, Veronica L. Dougherty of Fort Fairfield, Max Peters of Orono, Logan Peters of Falmouth, Draven Chapman of Gray, Matthew Donnelly of New Hampshire; one brother-in-law, Dana W. Chapman; two sisters-in-law, Rebecca M. Brook, Trudy A. O’Neal, all of Fort Fairfield; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Friday, May 13, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Celebration Center, 170 Houlton Road, Fort Fairfield with Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Fort Fairfield immediately following the interment. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Chapman to American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116. Envelopes will be available at both the funeral home and church.
