PABINEAU FIRST NATION, NB & FORT FAIRFIELD, ME

Pabineau First Nation, NB & Fort Fairfield, ME – Janet Althea (Churchill) Paul, 84, wife of Benjamin Peter Paul, Sr., passed away at her home in Pabineau First Nation, New Brunswick on Tuesday evening, May 3, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Janet was born July 28, 1937 in Fort Fairfield, Maine, the daughter of George “Austin” and Madeline G. (Fraser) Churchill.

She was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1954, and was married to Benjamin Peter Paul Sr. on April 12, 1957. Janet was a member of the Bathurst United Pentecostal Church. Janet was predeceased by her father, George Austin Churchill, mother, Madeline G. (Fraser) Churchill, two brothers, Hubert and John Churchill, and one son, Stephen Robert Peter-Paul on November 24, 2012.

She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Benjamin Peter Paul, Sr. of Pabineau First Nation, NB; four sons, Benjamin Peter-Paul Jr., David J. Peter-Paul and his wife Rose, Jonathan A. Peter-Paul and his wife Serena, all of Pabineau First Nation, Thomas C. Peter-Paul and his companion Cindy, of South Tetagouche, NB; two daughters, Madelyn G. Hennessey and her husband Rev. Russell Hennessy of Fredericton, NB, Robin L. Kelly of Pabineau First Nation, NB; seven brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Sylvia Churchill, Gary and Carol Churchill, all of Fort Fairfield, ME, Colby and Dorothy Churchill of Frenchville, ME, Richard Churchill of Georgia, Bryan and Shirley Churchill of Tennessee, Brent and Connie Churchill of Fort Fairfield, ME, Alan Churchill of the Dominican Republic; two sisters, Sandra Ward and her husband Randall of Weeks Mills, ME, Susan Churchill, currently residing in Vietnam; one sister-in-law, Mrs. John (Shirley) Churchill of Ellsworth; twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Family and friends may call Sunday, May 8, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (EST) at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, ME, and Monday May 9, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon (EST) at the United Pentecostal Church, 33 Currier Road, Fort Fairfield, ME, where the funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon (EST) with Rev. Ronald Doughty, host pastor and Rev. Russell Hennessey officiating pastor. The funeral service will be available to be viewed “Live” at 12 PM (EST) on the “Fort Fairfield United Pentecostal Church” Facebook page. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield, ME. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will take place after the interment at the Fort Fairfield United Pentecostal Church reception area.
