Fort Fairfield – Tammy L. Carter, 61, passed away Monday morning, March 7, 2022 at the Presque Isle Aroostook House of Comfort, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 16, 1960 in Presque Isle, the daughter of Ivan and Kathleen “Kay” (McGary) Carter.

Tammy was a graduate of the Presque Isle High School, Class of 1978. She had been employed by several businesses over the years, including Ninety-Nine Restaurant, Biddeford, Rite Aid, Presque Isle and most recently as a cook at R & J Market, Fort Fairfield. Tammy was an avid reader and enjoyed camping and spending time with her friends and family. She was a wonderful sister and cherished her grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her father, Ivan Carter; and an infant sister, Darla Jean Carter. She is survived by her mother, Kathleen “Kay” Carter of Holden; one daughter and son-in-law, Brandy L. and David Osterblom of Fort Fairfield; two sisters, Lesa Carson and her husband Rick of Fort Fairfield, Denise Carter and her companion David Godwin of Bangor; two grandchildren, Brendan and Brianna Osterblom, both of Fort Fairfield; four nieces and nephews, Joshua Taylor and his wife Bethany of Biddeford, Ashley Baker and her husband Mark of Gorham, Hillary Morton and her husband Rick of Castle Hill, Tucker Carter-Godwin of Bangor; many extended family members.

Friends may call Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. the 12:00 noon at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, where the funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 noon with Pastor Greg Murchison officiating. Interment will take place later in the spring at Riverside Extension Cemetery, Washburn. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Tammy to the Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O.
