Presque Isle – Laurie J. Hafford, 55, passed away unexpectedly Thursday morning, December 30, 2021 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility. She was born April 20, 1966 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of David and Annie (Hafford) McCausland.

She attended Presque Isle schools and had been by employed Control Devises, Caribou for a period of time and also worked at Sitel as a telemarketer for several years as one of their top sellers. Laurie was also a talented cake baker and decorator who’s wonderful creations were loved by many at numerous events over the years. Laurie possessed a big heart, was very protective of her family and was extremely generous. She will be remembered as a wonderful daughter, a caring sister, an excellent mother and grandmother, and an awesome aunt. She was known to many as “Laurie Chong”.

She is survived by her parents, David and Annie McCausland of Presque Isle; two sons, Kurt D. and Benjamin T. Condon, both of Presque Isle; one daughter and son-in-law, Amber and Joey Madore of Caribou; two brothers, Tom G. Hafford of Auburn, MA, Andrew D. McCausland and his wife Caitlyn of Milo; four sisters, Vicki Dean and her husband David of Buckfield, Gail Mahaney and her husband Robert of Presque Isle, Toni Hanson and her husband Darren of Easton, Jeannie Hafford Labbe and her husband Kris of Caribou; two grandchildren, Stephen and Allison Madore of Caribou; numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her longtime friend, David L. Condon of Presque Isle.

Friends may call Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. at the United Pentecostal Church 33 Currier Road, Fort Fairfield, where the funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Ronald Doughty officiating. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held in the church reception area following the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Laurie to the Fort Fairfield United Pentecostal Church, 33 Currier Road, Fort Fairfield, Maine 04742. Envelopes will be available at the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
