The following message is from Leah to Sarah for being Linda’s caretaker for 21 years: “Dear Sweet Sister Sarah Crouse. I should have thanked you more throughout the years. The dedication and love that you gave and shown our mother will never go unnoticed. All the appointments, hospital stays. You might not have realized it but you were moms saving grace. You were her best friend, and she was yours. Don’t you for one second let anyone rob that from you. I’m sure the rest of the siblings can agree that you did all you could to make sure she made it just another day. Another day to hear “I love you” from all of us. So thank you. Thank you for holding moms hand through the years. She was a fighter and she fought long enough. I love you sister ”.

A service to celebrate Linda’s life will take place at the Family Christian Center, Presque Isle, at a later date.

Afterglow
I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.

The York family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors and staff at Cary Medical Center, especially Chris Doody for the wonderful and compassionate care given to Linda during her illness.

Those who wish may contribute in memory of Linda to the Jefferson Cary Foundation, P.O. Box 89, Caribou, Maine 04736. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gibersondorseyfuneralhome.com .
