REBECCA L. “BECKY” ROBEY
LIMESTONE

Limestone – Rebecca L. “Becky” Robey, 74, wife of the late James O. Robey, passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 8, 2021 at a Presque Isle hospice facility, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 26, 1947 in Caribou, the daughter of Harry and Mildred (Ryder) Leighton.

Becky was a graduate of the Limestone High School and also attended Husson College, Bangor. She became employed by the Limestone IGA in 1992, later becoming Limestone Grocery, and retired from Mike’s Family Market in 2019. Becky was a true “spitfire” and although she was small in stature, she was a giant in spirit. She enjoyed puzzles, traveling, especially to a lake, and adored her grand and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Becky was predeceased by her husband James on November 29, 2020; and one brother, Bruce Leighton.

She is survived by one son, Jason Robey and his companion Nichole Moreau of Caribou; one daughter, Stacy Robey and her companion Jesse Michaud of Caribou; one grandchild, Corin Cooper and her husband Michael of Limestone; one great grandchild Brynn Cooper of Limestone; several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Becky’s wishes, there will be no formal services. She will be laid to rest with her husband James at the Northern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Caribou, at a later date. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Robey to the Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O. Box 867, Presque Isle, Maine 04769. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gibersondorseyfuneralhome.com .
