Pittsfield & Fort Fairfield – Jacqueline F. “Jackie” Deschesne, 96, wife of the late Harry T. Deschesne, passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 13, 2021 at her Pittsfield home, following a brief illness. She was born February 11, 1925 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Archie and Elizabeth (Tardy) Greenier.

Jackie attended Fort Fairfield schools, was married to Harry T. Deschesne, and resided in Fort Fairfield for many years. Jackie was a dedicated homemaker to her family and also worked for a number of years at the former A & P Plant, Fort Fairfield. She was a member of the Fort Fairfield VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187 Ladies Auxiliary, the Fort Fairfield Catholic Bridge Club, and the Fort Fairfield Golden Triangle Club. Jackie greatly enjoyed karaoke at the Fort Fairfield VFW, playing bingo, creating crafts, crocheting, and puzzles. She especially enjoyed playing poker and “wanted to take everyone’s money!” She will be remembered by her family as a wonderful and caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and aunt.

In addition to her parents, Jackie was predeceased by her husband Harry T. Deschesne on January 5, 1975; one daughter, Harriet N. Strout; one son-in-law, Earlon Stetson; two brothers, Leonard and Edmund Greenier; two sisters, Mary Greenier and Anna Marie Pelkey.

She is survived by five sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Deschesne, William J. and Diane Deschesne, all of Presque Isle, James and Betty Deschesne of O’Fallon, IL, Peter and Irma Deschesne of Pittsfield, John and Diane Deschesne of Littleton, NH; five daughters and sons-in-law, Helen Stetson of Mars Hill, Ann and Mike Hayes of Fort Fairfield, Mary and Greg Michaud of Arthurette, New Brunswick, Anita Deschesne Ireland of Fort Fairfield, Joan and David Widmer of Garland, TX. She also leaves behind a son-in-law, Keith Strout and his companion Claudette Walker of Fort Fairfield; a sister-in-law, Esther Greenier of Sherman; as well as a special friend, Phyllis MacGregor of Palmyra; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Monday October 18, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, and on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home where the funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kevin Kinsey officiating. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held after the service at the VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield. Interment will take place Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at 12:00 noon at the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Deschesne to Northern Light Home Care and Hospice – Penobscot, 885 Union Street, Northern Light Healthcare Mall, Suite 2, Bangor, Maine 04401.
