SCOTT O. PATCHELL
FORT FAIRFIELD & MIDDLETOWN, CT.

Fort Fairfield & Middletown, CT – Scott O. Patchell, 61, passed away unexpectedly, March 8, 2021 at his Fort Fairfield home. He was born December 28, 1959 in Middletown, CT, the son of Dale M. Jr. and Janet E. (Carter) Patchell.

Scott was raised in Middletown, CT where he would enjoy the many hours of building forts in the woods around Wadsworth Park, walking the train tracks to Lyman Orchards or to the Middletown Submarine Museum or just being a kid back when times were a lot different. All throughout Scott’s childhood he enjoyed Christmas the most, and his parents always made sure that Scott and his brother had a great Christmas holiday with family get togethers, trips to Maine to visit family and friends. Scott attended the local schools of Middletown, CT and he graduated from the Woodrow Wilson High School and the VO-AG in 1979. Upon graduation he worked at various jobs including a stint in the U.S. Army. Scott was married to Carin Fougner in 1995. He had worked for Interstate Batteries and a safety shoe company while he lived in CT but around 1999 Scott moved to central Florida. He had always loved driving trucks and it was in Florida that Scott developed his career of driving a tractor-trailer for Trans Phos. Inc., Bartow, FL. He was very proud of his safe driving awards (which surprised many of us up north:) from Trans Phos and spoke often about his friends at the company. Scott went by the “handle” of “Ralphy Boy” on the CB set. He retired after over twenty years of driving and purchased a home in Fort Fairfield, Maine.

Scott is survived by his brother, Reginald B. Patchell of Hanover, CT; two nephews, Dale M. Patchell of New Britain, CT and Colin J. Patchell who is currently serving with the U.S. Coast Guard; one uncle, Steve Slayton of West Hartford, CT. He is also survived by several cousins in New Hampshire and Arizona.

Services for Scott will take place at a future date.
