Fort Fairfield & Presque Isle – C. Ina Cyr, 89, wife of the late Wilbert Cyr Sr., passed away Saturday morning, May 22, 2021 at a Presque Isle nursing facility, following a period of declining health. She was born January 23, 1932 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Edgar and Irene (Cyr) Hand.
In addition to her parents, Ina was predeceased by her husband, Wilbert; three sons, Wilbert “Biff” Cyr Jr., Wayne Cyr, and Darold Cyr; one daughter, Willa Rae Cyr; two brothers, Burton and Gilbert Hand; one sister, Patricia Bogart.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Trisha Cyr of Grovetown, GA; five daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda and Clay King of Wallagrass, Cindy and Jeff Leich of Burlington, Ontario, Charlene “Chink” Cyr and husband Bud Tarbox of Grovetown, GA, Dede Cyr and husband Jim Alward of New Sweden, Irene and Larry Murphy of Fort Kent; three brothers, Paul Hand of Warminster, PA, Herby Hand of Georgia, Wayne Hand of Bucksport; three sisters, Judy Cyr of Raymond, Darlene Milloy of Meriden, CT, Crystal Friedman and her husband Michael of Bangor; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Ina’s wishes, services will be private. Interment will take place at the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Ina to the Fort Fairfield Alumni Association/Wilbert “Biff” Cyr Jr. Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 201, Fort Fairfield, Maine 04742. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
