Ashland – Lillian E. Howes, 65, wife of the late Myron Howes, passed away Friday evening, April 16, 2021 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility, following a period of declining health. She was born December 15, 1955 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Willard and Bernice (Gagnon) Labelle.

She was a graduate of the Ashland High School, Class of 1974. Lillian had been employed in several capacities over the years, including cooking at several North Maine Woods sporting camps, waitressing at Lil’s Diner in Ashland, working at the Six Mile NMW checkpoint and lastly at the Ashland Dead River Company. Lillian greatly enjoyed the outdoors, hunting partridge, fishing for brook trout and always looked forward to her annual trip to camp with her friends.

In addition to her parents, Lillian was predeceased by her husband Myron in 2017; one brother, Teddy Labelle.

She is survived by one son, Charles W. Tucker II and his companion, Leisha Milliard of Fort Fairfield; two stepsons, Isaac Howes and his wife Alecia of Ashland, Eric Howes of Presque Isle; one stepdaughter, Carlene Cormier and her husband Tom of Presque Isle; one brother, Reinie Labelle of Ashland; four sisters, Donna Shrout and her husband Dave, Annette Luce and her husband Wayne, Lorraine Morrow, all of Ashland, Anita Ayer and her husband Paul of Augusta; several grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Lillian’s Life, with burial at the Howes Family Cemetery, Ashland will be conducted at a later date. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Lillian to the Aroostook Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 867, Presque Isle, Maine 04769.
