Fort Fairfield – Willis B. “Wid” Dorsey, 91, husband of the late Patricia A. (Quigley) Dorsey, passed away Monday March 8, 2021 at an Augusta nursing facility, following an extended illness. He was born October 28, 1929 in Fort Fairfield, the son of John Edward and Leona (Pickard) Dorsey. He attended Fort Fairfield schools, served his country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954, and was married to Patricia A. Quigley on July 25, 1952. Wid had been employed as parts manager with Peterson’s Motor Mart, later Clukey’s Auto Parts in Fort Fairfield until his retirement in 1992.

Wid was a communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield, and was a life member of the VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Fort Fairfield. In addition to his parents, Wid was predeceased by his wife Patricia; one son, Richard P. Dorsey; five brothers, Clayton, Clarence, Hubert, Winston and Newman “Buddy” Dorsey; two sisters, Gladys Peterson Daigle, and Sister Elizabeth Dorsey. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Jo and Lesley Birmingham of Brunswick and Fernandina Beach, FL; one son and daughter-in-law, Robert D. and Ellen Dorsey of Aiken, SC; one granddaughter, Erica Dorsey of Boston; a great granddaughter, Sasha Kilroy of Wyoming; a brother-in-law, Don Quigley and his wife Linda of San Francisco, CA; two sisters-in law, Joy Quigley of Cape Canaveral, FL and Mary Dorsey of Westbrook, Maine. He also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, at a later date and time to be announced. Interment will take place at the Northern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Caribou in the Spring. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Dorsey to Hospice of Maine or the American Heart Association.
