Fort Fairfield – Yvette M. Bernaiche, 98, wife of the late Adrian J. Bernaiche, passed away Saturday morning, February 27, 2021 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility, following a brief illness. She was born March 21, 1922 in Edmundston, New Brunswick, the daughter of Philiás and Emedé (Boucher) Bossé.

She attended Edmundston schools and was married to Adrian J. Bernaiche on July 23, 1951. She had been a resident of Houlton for eight years and had resided in Fort Fairfield since 1959, where she was a faithful communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, Yvette was predeceased by her husband Adrian on July 14, 2013; six brothers, Norbert, Albert, Auréle, Roland, Lucien and Roger Bossé; two sisters, Melina Bossé and Leanne Couturier.

Yvette is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Charlene and Oscar Argraves of Fort Fairfield; three sons, Danny Bernaiche and his wife Denise of Bristol, CT, Roger Bernaiche and his companion Barbara of Fort Fairfield, Gerald Bernaiche of Westbrook; one sister, Anita Belanger of Edmundston, New Brunswick; two very dear nieces, Gaetane and Jackie; a special friend and caregiver, Sally Cord of Presque Isle; twelve grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Wednesday, March 3, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. Please be advised that a face covering will be required, and the number of people allowed in the building at one time will be limited. Due to the current restrictions on gatherings, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated privately at the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, Fort Fairfield. Interment will take place later in the spring at St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield.
