Fort Fairfield – Ernestine M. “Tina” Jalbert, 59, wife of the late Ronald J. Jalbert Jr., passed away Friday afternoon, November 13, 2020 at her Fort Fairfield home, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 28, 1961 in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Ernest Sr. and Violette (Guimond) Belanger.

She was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1981 and was married to Ronald J. Jalbert Jr. on September 29, 1979. Tina had been employed as a cashier at the Fort Fairfield Hillside IGA for over 17 years. She enjoyed camping, trips to Portland, knitting, and spending time at her home with her K-9 “Boys” Ralf and Ted. She also adored time spent with her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Tina was predeceased by one infant daughter, Jessica J. Jalbert on May 20, 1986; her husband, Ronald J. Jalbert Jr. on April 19, 2000; three brothers, Patrick, Ernest Jr., and James Belanger; one sister, Rena LaPointe. She is survived by two sons, Ronald J. Jalbert III and his companion Neadra Dubois, Michael A. Jalbert and his wife Peggy; one daughter, Shannon St. Pierre and her husband Camille, all of Fort Fairfield; three sisters, Doris Bartlett and her husband Bob of Nova Scotia, Betty Taggett and her husband Paul of Limestone, Barbara McEwen of Fort Fairfield; four grandchildren, Luke Carpenter of Fort Smith, AK, Patience Jalbert of Abeline, KS, Ayden St. Pierre and Joseph Jalbert, both of Fort Fairfield; numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece, Kristy Crockett and her daughter Stephanie Michaud, both of Fort Fairfield.

Tina’s family wishes to extend their sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Aroostook House of Comfort, Hospice of Aroostook, Aroostook Cancer Care, and a special thank you to Pam Conklin from Professional Home Nursing. Your kindness and care will always be remembered.

Friends may call Wednesday, November 18, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. Please wear a face mask and practice social distancing, and be advised that the number of attendees in the building at a time is limited. In keeping with Tina’s wishes, the funeral and burial services will be private. Interment will take place the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mrs. Jalbert to the Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O. Box 867, Presque Isle, Maine 04769. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
