GEORGE W. STICKNEY
EASTON

Easton – George W. Stickney, 84, husband of Idell (Schumacher) Stickney, passed away Sunday afternoon, September 27, 2020 at the Aroostook House of Comfort, Presque Isle, following a brief illness. He was born November 7, 1935 in Easton, the son of Frank C. and Jean K. (Harvey) Stickney.

He was a graduate of the Easton High School, Class of 1953 and served in the United States Army from October 1958 to October 1960 in the 4th Armored Division, stationed in Germany, and achieved the rank of Corporal. He was married to Idell Schumacher on March 16, 1957 and had been employed as a fireman with the Town of Easton and retired from the Loring Air Force Base Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Stickney was predeceased by one brother, Robert K. Stickney; two sisters, Mary Louise Sharpe, and Glenda Mae Hersey. George is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Idell Stickney of Easton; two sons, Frank T. Stickney and his wife Pam of Sanford, Ted F. Stickney and his life partner Tracy Mullins of Presque Isle; one daughter, Colleen Plourde and her husband Randy of Easton; one sister, Audrey Jean Lawrence and her husband Lester of Mars Hill; ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be conducted at the Estes Park Cemetery, Easton at a later date. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Stickney to the Central Aroostook Humane Society, 26 Cross Street, Presque Isle, Maine 04769.
