Presque Isle – Donald Saucier, 71, passed away Thursday evening, August 6, 2020 at Presque Isle hospice facility, following an extended illness. He was born April 3, 1949 in Presque Isle, the son of Gregory and Mattie (Carney) Saucier.

He was a graduate of the Presque Isle High School, Class of 1967 and served his country with the United States Army during the Vietnam War, stationed in Korea. He had been employed by International Paper at Clayton Lake for a number of years and worked for twenty-six years at the Presque Isle Transfer Station as operations supervisor until his retirement in 2011. Donald continued to work after his retirement at Smith Farms for a period of six years. Donald was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and time spent with his family.

In addition to his parents, Donald was predeceased by one son, Erik Saucier; two brothers, Joseph Saucier and Jeffrey Soucier. He is survived by two sons, Jared Saucier and his wife Crissy of Clifton, Michael Saucier and his fiancé Emily of Mapleton; two brothers, Ronald Soucier of Presque Isle, Wendell Soucier of Mapleton; one sister, Marie Emily Dubey and her husband Stan of Bristol, CT. He also leaves behind his former wife and dear friend, Valerie White of Washburn; as well as two grandchildren, Bella Saucier of Clifton, and Eleanor Saucier of Mapleton; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted Friday August 14, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fairmount Cemetery, Presque Isle with the Rev. Mark Babin officiating. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Saucier to the Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O. Box 867, Presque Isle, Maine 04769.
