Fort Fairfield – Philip S. Hunt, 69, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 14, 2020 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility. He was born November 17, 1950 in Fort Fairfield, the son of Grant A. and Pauline A. (Durepo) Hunt.

He was a graduate of the Fort Fairfield High School, Class of 1969 and also received a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Maine at Presque Isle. He had been employed by Woolworth Department Stores as a retail manager in both Maine and Rhode Island for more than 20 years.

In addition to his parents, Philip was predeceased by two brothers, Peter G. Hunt and Franklyn “Champ” Hunt; one sister, Jacquelyn Mancib. He is survived by two sons, Philip Jason Hunt of Scarborough, Stephen Hunt of Morgantown, WV and his fiancé Desiree Williford of Middletown, RI; his former wife and dear friend, Sue Hunt of West Warwick, RI; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Vicky Hunt of Memphis, TN ; one sister, Marilyn Alexio and her husband Donald of Portland, OR; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Peter (Jane) Hunt of Fort Fairfield; a brother-in-law, Richard Mancib of Naples, FL; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be private. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Hunt to the American Heart Association / American Stroke Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241-7005 or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, P.O. Box 37920, Boone, IA 50037-0920.
