ALEVO (AL) FRANCIS COUTURIER
FORT FAIRFIELD

Fort Fairfield – Alveo (Al) Francis Couturier, 86, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2020 at the Aroostook House of Comfort. He was born in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada on December 11, 1933, the son of Willie and Aimee (Charest) Couturier.

Alveo retired from J. Paul Levesque and Sons, Masardis as an accountant in 1982. In his spare time, he enjoyed carpentry, which led to building several homes in the surrounding area. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family at his summer home in Masardis located on the Aroostook River and traveling to his second home in Bartow, Florida. His passion for hockey inspired him to create and coach a team of boys in the late 70’s. He loved sharing his knowledge and making a difference in someone’s life. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. He always said, “If there is a will, there is a way.” He will be greatly missed especially at family gatherings.

He is survived by a daughter, Anne-Marie Marquis and her husband Brent of Fort Fairfield; a son, Gary Couturier and his wife Sarah of Madison; five grandchildren, Angela (Eastman) Saucier and her husband Randy of Bowdoin, Dustin Eastman and his companion Nikki Karney of Fort Fairfield, Joshua Eastman and his wife Natasha of Monmouth, Cody Couturier of Kennebunk, and Evan Couturier of Wales; two step-grandchildren, Robert Jordan of Missouri, and Amy Granatowski of Connecticut; five great grandchildren, Colby Saucier, Jordeyn Saucier, and Baylee Saucier, all of Bowdoin, Roakley and Ramsey Eastman, both of Monmouth; a sister, Fernande (Couturier) Runion of Connecticut.

In addition to his parents, Alveo was predeceased by his wife, Bernadette (Desjardins) Couturier; two sisters, Jeanette (Couturier) Daigle, and Germaine (Couturier) Blanchard; and a brother, Roland Couturier.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the spring or early summer at the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Denis Catholic Church, 147 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. Burial will be at a future date at the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Cemetery in Edmundston, N.B., Canada. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Couturier to the Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O. Box 867, Presque Isle, Maine 04769.
