RANDY L. HILL
FORT FAIRFIELD

Fort Fairfield – Randy L. Hill, 70, husband of Martha (Fournier) Hill, passed away Sunday evening, March 1, 2020 at a Presque Isle nursing facility, following an extended illness. He was born January 29, 1950 in Fort Fairfield, the son of Ralph Sr. and Freda E. (Haley) Hill.

He attended Fort Fairfield schools and had worked as a potato farmer, and had also been employed by Pelletier Construction, Presque Isle. Randy also worked for the City of Presque Isle plowing snow at the airport and was self employed both selling and servicing John Deere tractors in Fort Fairfield. Randy truly enjoyed the farm life, and worked for several area farmers over the years, including Leavitt Farms where he worked until his illness no longer allowed him to do so. Randy truly loved his John Deere tractors and his morning ritual of leaving home at 4:30 a.m. for coffee at Riverside Inn in Presque Isle before he started his workday.

He was predeceased by his father, Ralph Hill Sr.; his mother, Freda E. (Haley) Hill Pye; one sister and brother-in-law, Ardith and Earlon Turner; one brother-in-law, Peter LeVasseur. He is survived by his wife of nearly 28 years, Martha Hill of Fort Fairfield; two sons, Scott Hill of Dexter, Jeffrey Hill and his wife Christie of Newburg; one brother and sister-in-law, Ralph Jr. and Mary Hill of Yarmouth; one sister, Susan LeVasseur; 7 grandchildren, Paige, Leah, Ryan, Scottie, Jacob, Randy and Zack; Martha’s children, Trevor Rideout and his wife Brenda of Minto, New Brunswick, Tabitha A. Foster and her husband Tim of St. John, New Brunswick, Sonya A. Thomas and her husband Richard of Fredericton, New Brunswick; several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Randy’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held later in the spring at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Hill to C-A-N-C-E-R, P.O. Box 811, Presque Isle, Maine 04769.
