INGEMANN N. SORENSEN
PRESQUE ISLE
Ingemann N. Sorensen, 89, husband of the late Dorothy (Christensen) Sorensen, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at Northern Light Continuing Care in Mars Hill. He was born December 15, 1930 in New Denmark, New Brunswick, the son of Christian & Johanna (Pedersen) Sorensen.
He was married to Dorothy Christensen and in 1957 they moved to Mapleton from New Brunswick and together raised their daughters, Faith & Vicky. He loved fishing, hunting, snowmobiling & carpentry. He was a Mason for 50 years and a member of the Washburn Lodge #193, AF & AM. After retiring from Wolverine as Head of Facilities and machinist, of which, he designed & built many tools and machines, he & Dorothy loved traveling in their motor home. He attended State Street Baptist Church, Presque Isle for over 40 years.
In addition to his parents, Ingemann was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy on July 5, 2019; by two sisters and four brothers. He is survived by his daughter & grandson, Faith & Josh Gallop and daughter & son-in-law, Vicky & William Wolfe, all of Presque Isle, as well as many nieces & nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, 250 Brackett, St. Portland, ME 04102.
A remembrance gathering will be announced at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.gibersondorseyfuneralhome.com.
