FREDERICK H. OSGOOD
April 27, 1928 – December 26, 2019

Easton - Fred Osgood, 91, died on December 26, 2019 at the Aroostook House of Comfort hospice care facility in Presque Isle, Maine following a brief illness. He was born in Easton, ME on April 27, 1928 to the late Harry and Alpharetta (White) Osgood.

Fred was a proud veteran of the US Army and served honorably during the Korean Conflict.

Fred was an incredibly strong and stoic man, working tirelessly as a potato farmer in Easton for over 40 years. Fred built and maintained the “Bangor Road Auditorium” in “Fred’s Barn” where countless numbers of children “played ball” seemingly all the time in the days before Recreation departments.

He is survived by 4 children, Tom Osgood and wife Ann (Flewelling) of Easton; daughter Laurie Bjorn of Kennebunk; son Jeff Osgood and wife Pam (Hicks) of Scarborough; and daughter Julie Barros and husband, Mario of Kennebunk. He was immensely proud of his 8 grandchildren and adored his 5 great-grandchildren, Matthew Osgood and wife, Jessica, and children Landon and Laurel, of Eads, Tennessee; Michael Osgood and wife Anna and children Jonathan, Andrew and Emily of Niceville, Florida; Michelle Osgood and husband, Reed of Greenfield, Wisconsin; Ryan Bjorn and wife Alexis of Auburndale, MA; Chelsea Osgood and partner Brandon of Lynn, MA; Christopher Osgood of Westbrook, Maine; Avery Barros of Medford, MA; and Lilly Barros of Kennebunk, Maine. Fred is also survived by former wife Betty (Durost) Osgood, and her children Tammy Cyr of Bucksport and Kevin Caverhill of Caribou. Fred was also very fond of his many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Fred was predeceased by his brothers Robert and Herbert “Connie” Osgood; and former wife and best friend Mary Ann (Nickerson) Osgood.

A graveside committal service at Estes Cemetery in Easton will be announced at a later date by Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street Fort Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, food, or any other donations, the family would like to encourage people to contribute to the wonderful compassionate Aroostook House of Comfort, P.O. Box 867, Presque Isle, Maine 04769. (aroostookhousefcomfort.org).

There are countless friends, neighbors, caregivers, medical staff, home visitation staff, et al to thank that we cannot begin to list them all. We sincerely appreciate their kindness and attentiveness towards our father and the family at this difficult time. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gibersondorseyfuneralhome.com
