FORT FAIRFIELD

Fort Fairfield – Justin T. Kinney, 37, passed away Monday afternoon, November 11, 2019 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility, following a brief illness. He was born November 6, 1982 at Portsmouth Naval Air Station, VA, the son of Bruce and Carrie C. (Achorn) Kinney.

He was a graduate of the Virginia Beach, VA School System, Class of 2001 and went on the further his education at the Northern Maine Community College where he received an associates degree in automotive technology. Justin was a true “ladies man” who adored his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He enjoyed playing his ukulele, loved animals and cars, and was an accomplished practical joker. He had been employed by Pineland Farms, Fort Fairfield as a machine operator.

Justin was predeceased by his father and stepmother, Bruce and Vicki-Diane (O’Toole) Kinney; and his stepfather, Stephen Shaw. He is survived by his fiancé, Cory Craig Sawyer of Fort Fairfield; his mother, Carrie Shaw of Fort Fairfield; one brother, David E. Ferrier of Chattanooga, TN; two sisters, Mallory S. Lagasse and her husband John of Perham, Margo S. Ferrier of Fort Fairfield. He also leaves behind three special nieces and nephews, Hailey and Ryan Lagasse of Perham, Blake Soucy of Fort Fairfield; a special uncle, Jim Parady of Fort Fairfield; and his cat, Dodge.

A memorial gathering of friends and family will be conducted Friday November 15, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield. There will be no formal funeral service, however a private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Kinney to the Justin T.
