KATHERINE “CANDY” WEST
LIMESTONE

Limestone – Katherine “Candy” West, 64, wife of the late James A. West Sr., passed away Sunday afternoon, November 10, 2019 at a Caribou healthcare facility, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 11, 1955 in Caribou, the daughter of Guy L. Sr. and Juanita (Bell) Berube.

She was a graduate of the Limestone High School, Class of 1974 and was married to James A. West on July 4, 1974. Candy was a lifelong communicant of the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Louis Catholic Church, Limestone and worked at Page’s Oil Co. in Limestone for a number of years, Sitel at the Loring Commerce Center for several years, and was employed at the time of her illness at D.F.A.S. Loring Commerce Center, Limestone as a accounting tech for the past 12 years. Candy will be remembered by her family as a wonderful wife, daughter, mother, sister and grandmother who loved family gatherings and especially cherished the time spent with her precious grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Candy was predeceased by her husband James Sr. on April 18, 2005; one sister, Judy Stoudt; and a special grandson, Austin James West. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James A. Jr. and Amanda West of Union; one daughter and son-in-law, Jaime and Karl Henderson of Limestone; two brothers, Guy L. “Terry” Berube Jr. and his wife Christine of Limestone, Patrick Berube of Lisbon Falls; two sisters, Norma Lambrecht and her husband Earl of Limestone, Donna Bernier and her companion Clayton Roy both of Caswell; two very special grandchildren, Elsie and Emmett West, both of Union; numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit with the family Saturday November 16, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Louis Catholic Church, 100 Main Street, Limestone, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. . Interment will follow at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery, Limestone. A time continued fellowship with refreshments will be held after the interment in the church reception area. Those who choose may contribute in memory of Mrs. West to the Austin James West Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Jaime Henderson, 34 Access Highway, Limestone, Maine 04750. Envelopes will be available at the service. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
