Washburn – Graydon E. Buckingham, 82, husband of Nanalee (Humphrey) Buckingham, passed away Saturday morning, September 28, 2019 at his Washburn home, following an extended illness. He was born March 19, 1937 in Easton, the son of George and Mae (Ladner) Buckingham.

He was a graduate of the Easton High School and served his country with the United States Army from 1955 to 1958 with the Military Police Army Intelligence. He was married to Nanalee Humphrey on June 18, 1955 and worked as a master electrician for over 50 years, with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers No. 1253 throughout New England retiring in 2002. He was a volunteer fire fighter with the Washburn Fire Department for twenty-five years, where he served as captain. He was a Master Mason with the Washburn Masonic Lodge No. 193 AF & AM for over fifty years and also been a member of the Washburn Order of the Eastern Star. Graydon greatly loved basketball, most especially the Easton Bears, the Fort Fairfield Tigers and the Yukon Women’s.

In addition to his parents, Graydon was predeceased by one brother, Ivan Buckingham; one sister, Sandra Conant. He is survived by his wife Nanalee of Washburn; two sons, Graydon K. Buckingham and his wife Lori of Wesley Chapel, FL, Sandy Buckingham of Washburn; three daughters, Velda Buckingham of Washburn, Leslie Carlow and her husband Phil of Easton, Jana Shaw and her husband Kendall of Fort Fairfield; one brother, Leon Buckingham and his wife Sheila of Ashland; two sisters, Electra Blodget and Sharon Barclay, both of Easton; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

A Masonic graveside service will be conducted Friday, October 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Northern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Lombard Road, Caribou, by the officers of the Washburn Masonic Lodge No. 193 AF & AM. Military honors will follow the service. A time of continued fellowship will take place at the home of Nanalee Buckingham, 87 Hines Street, Washburn following the service. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Buckingham to the charity of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
