FORT FAIRFIELD & CARIBOU

Fort Fairfield & Caribou – Glenwood J. Chambers Sr., 77, husband of the late Estelle Patricia (White) Chambers, passed away Friday morning, July 19, 2019 at a Caribou healthcare facility, following an extended illness. He was born October 5, 1941 in Fort Fairfield, the son of Orie and Georgianna (Cyr) Chambers.

Glenwood attended local schools and had been employed in the potato farming industry for many years, mostly by Ruel Flannery Farms in Fort Fairfield.

In addition to his parents and wife, Glenwood was predeceased by two brothers, Frank and Robert Chambers; three sisters, Mildred Gibbs, Phyllis Clark, Barbara Chambers; one great granddaughter, Lilly Berube. He is survived by one son, Glenwood J. Chambers Jr. of Caribou; one brother, Orie Chambers Jr. and his wife Betty of Wakefield, RI; two sisters, Laura Johnston and her husband Hazen of Centreville, New Brunswick, Myrtle Sarton of Texas; four grandchildren and spouses, Sarah and John Burchett of Easton, Dustin and Amanda Chambers of Presque Isle, Hillary and Nathan Berube of Caribou, Tanieshia Brooker of Connecticut; two great grandchildren, Nicholai Chambers of Presque Isle, Damean Fulton of Connecticut; numerous nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be conducted at a later date at the Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. In lieu of Flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Chambers to the Jefferson Cary Foundation, 163 Van Buren Road, Caribou, Maine 04736. www.gibersondorseyfuneralhome.com
