Presque Isle – A. Joyce Beaulieu, 88, passed away Saturday evening, March 30, 2019 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility, following a brief illness. She was born September 12, 1930 in Lincoln, the daughter of Claude J. and Susan D. (Emerson) Johnston.

Joyce was raised in Monmouth, attended Monmouth Academy and the Aroostook School of Commerce, Presque Isle. Joyce had been employed by Buzzy’s Grocery Store in Presque Isle for several years and also worked as a bartender at the Northeastland Hotel in Presque Isle for a number of years. She was a member of the Presque Isle Elks Lodge, and also a member and past president of the Presque Isle Jayceettes. She also generously donated her talents and time as a volunteer at the Aroostook Medical Center, Presque Isle.

In addition to her parents, Joyce was predeceased by one son, Carl “Butch” Beaulieu; one grandson, Michael Beaulieu; one son-in-law, David Leavitt; and the father of her children, Arthur “Buzzy” Beaulieu; two brothers, Sandy and Delmont Johnston; two sisters, Thelma “Sally” Smith and Jessie Albert. She is survived by two sons, Frank Beaulieu, Roy Beaulieu and his wife Sherry, all of Presque Isle; three daughters, Sharon Leavitt of Bangor, Suzanne Berube and her husband Terry, Kathy Brown and her husband Joe, all of Presque Isle; eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Joyce’s wishes, there will be no services at this time. Interment will take place later in the spring at Johnson Cemetery, Presque Isle. Those who wish may contribute in Joyce’s memory to the Jessie Albert Memorial Dental Clinic, 171 Congress Avenue, Bath, Maine 04530.
