FORT FAIRFIELD

Fort Fairfield – Gerald H. “Gup” Brouette, 77, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday evening, October 17, 2018 at his Fort Fairfield home. He was born October 25, 1940 in Waterbury, CT, the son of Howard L. and Grace (Mack) Brouette.

He graduated from high school in Waterbury, CT, and served his country with the United States Army Mac – V Engineers from September 1958 to October 1966, stationed in Vietnam. Gerald attended Kaynor Technical College and Ricker College, Presque Isle. He was a former member of the Fort Fairfield VFW Paul Lockhart Post Number 6187, and a member of the Titusville, FL American Legion. Gerald attended the Family Christian Center, Presque Isle, and while residing in Florida attended the Titusville New Life Christian Fellowship. Gerald had been employed by Interstate Foods, Fort Fairfield for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, NASCAR, baseball, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, and is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Gerald S. “Buck” and Heidi Brouette of Fort Fairfield; two daughters and sons-in-law, Melody A. and Don Deardorff of Coco, FL, Danet and Michael Thibeau of Titusville, FL; former wife and dear friend, Linda J. Brouette of Titusville, FL; six grandchildren and spouses, Justin and Cami Thibeau, Joshua and Jena Thibeau, Chelsea and Moses Banda, all of Titusville, FL, Michael Robertson of Bangor, Cody Clossen and his fiancé Stephanie Leighton of Easton, Marissa Brouette of Fort Fairfield; four great grandchildren, Raelynn Clossen of Easton, Nathan, Nyah, and Natalie Banda of Titusville, FL.

A private interment service with military honors will be conducted at the Northern Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Caribou. Those who wish may contribute in Gerald’s memory to the charity or organization of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
